Spartans Celebrate 100th Day of School

WCS 1st graders celebrated the 100th Day of School last Thursday. While our youngest students honor this tradition annually, this year seemed a bit more momentous as it marked the 100th day of in-person learning during the pandemic.

As part of the celebration, 1st graders reflected on and wrote about what they thought life would be like when they were 100, showcasing skills they’ve learned this year on developing a paragraph with sentence structure, including capital letters and punctuation.

Students also played various math games, utilizing addition strategies in "Roll to 100" and incorporated STEM into their activities in building a structure using 100 cups.

While the day was fun and playful, it also held significance for the whole community and WCS' leadership team. "We take great pride in our students being challenged academically, and being well-rounded, at Collegiate. This year, while things have been adapted, our faculty and staff and our community have enabled our programs to continue," Head of School Nathan Washer said. "I am proud of our community for staying so nimble this year."
