Evan Yang rows in competition

Congratulations to freshman Evan Yang on his selection to the Olympic Development Program (ODP) for Rowing!

Yang competed earlier in March in the National Indoor Rowing Championships, U17 Division, and finished with the fastest 2k time of 6:53.0.

The ODP is a highly selective training camp intended to immerse rowers in an intense well-rounded training experience. Through the program, Yang will receive training in the importance of strength training, injury prevention, nutrition, and mental preparedness for competition from nutritionists, certified sports trainers, and high school and club coaches. He'll also learn more broadly about the college and Olympic recruitment process.

Yang will travel to Jacksonville, FL, for three weeks, then travel to Sarasota, FL, to U.S. Rowing's flagship facility for a final week of competition some time this summer. Congratulations, Evan!
